Small office/home office phones operate without the KSU, but often provide access to up to 4 lines and sometimes include a few of the commercial system features - such as paging and transfer - at a much lower price.
Corded Small Office/Home Office Phones
The two types of Small Office/Home Office equipment: 1 to 4-line phones without intercom and multi-line phones with intercom. This latter type allows for inter-phone communications and transferring calls from one phone to another.
Cordless Small Office/Home Office Phones
These products consist of a single base unit (with or without answering capabilities) and multiple handsets and can handle up to 4 lines. They have a complete set of useful features as well as intercom between handsets, caller id, and even, on some models, auto attendant and voice mail with individual mailboxes.
